I never thought that living in Idaho we would experience an earthquake, but true enough at 7:02 am yesterday morning (February 21, 2008) we had a little rumble.
Dan and I woke up to our entire house shaking. Not severe shaking but enough to wake us from a sound sleep. We could see and hear the door to our bathroom knock and shack against the frame. The walls shook. The shaking lasted about 30 seconds and then stopped. As soon as it stopped I quickly got out of bed and checked on my children. Kaleb whom I am assuming was sleeping on the edge of his bed (because he usually partially hangs off the bed) had fallen off and was concerned about what had happened. I went to the living room to find the pictures and the mirrors knocked askew. Nothing had fallen off the entertainment center or walls, the quake wasn't that strong, but it was very disconcerting.
To be honest I wasn't sure that it had actally happened. I thought that we had imagined it all. Five minutes after the shaking ended my sister Megan called me and asked me if I had felt the rumble. After talking with her my friend Carina called me and asked me the same question. Funny though my parents hardly felt anything and they only live about 1 mile from me. My dad just noticed the blinds vibrating a little. Big difference to what we felt.
I am relieved that we didn't have the quake that Wells Nevada had. Theirs was 6.0 If I was unsettled by the one we had I definately would have freaked out with that one.

It was crazy, huh! It's funny how differently it was felt in different places. Some of the guys here might go help clean up in Nevada this weekend.
